Library

Our Library offers a bright and spacious learning environment for our students and staff.  We enjoy an impressive collection of close to 10,000 items including:

• Picture Story books – suitable for kinder to grade 6

• Easy Fiction

• Graphic Novels

• Fiction

• Non-fiction titles

Our Library Technician is constantly updating the collection ensuring a wide range of good quality books that include the latest titles, children’s classics, popular series’, Hi/Lo books to Dyslexia Friendly books. Every student at Oakleigh Primary School and Kindergarten has a weekly timetabled library session.  The aim of the library program is to encourage a love of books, reading and learning at the same time as acquiring safe and authoritative research skills as well as appropriate book choice.

The library is open each lunchtime for students to browse and read. We also have a collection of parent resources, which includes books on parenting, puberty, parenting children with additional needs, grief and illness, etc.  All parents are welcome to borrow from this collection.
